Warning Signs of Possible Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is often not immediately apparent. However, there are warning signs that may indicate a person is being exploited or trafficked. Please remain alert and look out for the following signs:

  • Does an individual arrive with another person who seems to maintain control over their actions?
  • Does the accompanying individual speak on behalf of the person or appear to dominate the conversation?
  • Does the individual appear fearful or show signs of distress when interacting with the accompanying person?
  • Is the person unable or unwilling to communicate freely, possibly due to language barriers or fear of interaction?

While no single sign may necessarily point to trafficking, multiple signs together could indicate a potential case. If you suspect trafficking or exploitation, please get in touch with the appropriate authorities immediately. Your vigilance can help save lives.
